European Vacation- Days 7 & 8, Berlin

Day 7– Berlin

Sushi dinner with Mikey!Beer, it’s what’s for dinner.I had to get a new toothbrush because I left mine in Sweden. Shopping partner!

MODERAT show at Club Astra

F’ng EPIC as @&^$!!! Unbelievably good. Watch this video in its entirety. The build up in the music and the build up in the visuals will move you. Be patient. It’s completely worth it. Eyes closed (well after you watch the video). Relax kiddos. I have it on repeat. Not sure if it’s just me but this song is healing. If you aren’t familiar with Moderat, get familiar. If the music doesn’t blow you away well…we can’t be friends.

Thinking about whether I want beer or whiskey…Astra beer– also the name of the venue.Phono of CLP and Mikey (aka Momma’s Boy)I’m getting drunk at this point.Chris and Linus of Jokers of the Scene2/3 of Moderat (Modeselektor)1/3 of Moderat (Apparat)

Day 8– Thanksgiving in Berlin

I didn’t do too much for Thanksgiving really but I enjoyed a Turkish dinner and kept it mellow. I decided not to go out and relax at home. It was lovely. I walked the streets of Kreuzberg and listened to music. I bought flowers for my flat mates and soup for my sick friend. Mikey caught the flu so he was trapped in his room.

I love cobblestone streets. I love fresh air and walking to melodic electronic theme music. Berlin is beautiful. It is full of depth and history, art, color, music… I appreciate being here. It feels amazing to be alive. To breathe in new scents and see how price tags are written with commas rather than decimal points– to watch how people act and dress and how styles of homes and cars and shops are different. With all the these minor changes, people are still the same. We all bleed and have emotions. We have the same struggles with beauty and relationships and status and misinterpreting one another. However, there are so many things that draw us together. I love that music has that power.
I also appreciate the CANDY.
